Accessibility Statement for MedAdvisor UK App
This is an accessibility statement from MedAdvisor Welam UK Ltd (MedAdvisor) with respect to the MedAdvisor UK App.
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. The MedAdvisor UK App is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology
The MedAdvisor UK App is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

Limitations and alternatives
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of the MedAdvisor UK App, there are some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.
Known limitations for the MedAdvisor UK App:
- Maps are not screen readable: When registering, selecting a pharmacy or GP on a map cannot be done with a screen reader. We use standard Google maps functionality. Rectifying this requires a technical assessment exploring the way Google maps works in detail with developers. We will allocate time in our roadmap to resolve the issue. In the meantime, users can use the list view to select pharmacies since it is screen readable.
- No “Skip to content” shortcut: There is no "Skip to content" shortcut on the web view (desktop mode) so that a patient can avoid having the menu being read out before getting to the details of the page. This functionality has not been developed yet. This has been added to the roadmap of work. In the meantime, users must tab through each menu item on each new page to get to the content.
- When searching for medications to manually add to the app using the Navigator screen reader on Chrome, the brand name of medication is not read out: This Is an issue with the Navigator screen reader when using the Chrome browser on a Windows 10 computer. This requires technical discovery to resolve as the brand is ignored by the screen reader. This has been added to the roadmap of work. In the meantime, users can use Edge or IE or ask their pharmacist to add the correct medication manually as they can do this on behalf of the user. Alternatively, the user can get their Personal Linkage Key from their GP and enter this in the Providers tab.
- On the Medication Details page using the Navigator screen reader on Chrome, the current supply cannot be changed: Using the Navigator screen reader with Chrome on a Windows 10 computer, on the medication details page, the user’s current supply of medications cannot be set. This requires technical discovery to resolve, as this screen element is being ignored by the screen reader. This has been added to the roadmap of work. In the meantime, users can achieve the same outcome by accessing this feature from the home screen > Select medication > Edit days left.
